Your PTA
Executive Board is dedicated to
making Horace Mann the best school
in the district:
President
President of a PTA includes the responsibility to lead the PTA toward
specific goals chosen by its members. The president is the presiding
officer and the official representative of the association.
Vice President of Programs
The Vice President of Programs works with others to plan the
year’s complete PTA program which includes parent education,
health/safety, special events and student activities.
Vice President of Fundraising
The major responsibility of the Vice President of Fundraising is to
leading the PTA in raise the amount needed to support the programs of
the PTA in enriching our school. The normal PTA dues of $10 is
insufficient to cover the expenses of the many fine programs and things
the PTA sponsors and supports to make Horace Mann the best school that
it can be. The funds raised by the PTA are available to be put directly
back into the school by buying items that teachers need. The more money
that is raised, the more we as the PTA can do to improve every
child’s educational experience.
Vice President of Volunteers
The VP of Volunteers oversees the activities of the school volunteers and represents them on the PTA executive board.
Vice President of Community Service
The Vice President of Community Service works with committee
coordinators to implement the community service events and activities
at our school geared toward teaching our children the value of helping
others.
Vice President of Communications
The Vice President of Communications is responsible for overseeing the communications for the school.
Vice President of Hospitality
The VP of Hospitality is the official host of the PTA unit and, with a
committee, has the responsibility of establishing a friendly,
comfortable atmosphere at PTA meetings and events.
Executive Vice President
Executive Vice President serves as the primary aide to the president.
Auditor
The auditor follows all financial transactions through the records to
be sure receipts have been properly accounted for and expenditures made
as authorized.
Treasurer
The Treasurer of the PTA is a critical position and helps keeps track of our spending.
Secretary
The Secretary is responsible for keeping accurate up-to-date minutes of the PTA and Executive Board meetings.
Historian
The Historian assembles and preserves the record of activities and
achievements of the PTA add assists the president in preparing the Unit
Annual Report.
